Gomedia delivered their first equipment to the Italian Fire Brigade at 2021, their organisation consists of twentyone local centers spread all over Italy.
All of the the twentyone local centers are using the Gomedia Service using laptop sized terminals with 6 Mbps in Duplex. On top of this, the Italian Fire Brigade are also using the Gomedia Satcom Solution at 10 Mbps Duplex in their telecommunication vehicles used for Emergency Response situations.
The mean of communication when using the Gomedia Satcom Solution is giving access for the Italian Fire Brigade to the internal proprietary applications for tracking of emergency situations that is occuring in the various geographical areas. The Gomedia technology enable the Italian Fire Brigade to exchange all the communication needed live, while also using drones for receiving live communication feeds from the field. The solution also enable the Italian Fire Brigade to use personal secure coms during the whole period of sensitive operations.
The Gomedia Etna Teleport in Catania provide Fibre connectivity with the Italian MoI (Ministry of Interior) where there are foreseen to also use helicopters and boat solutions in the future.
Due to its high performance level the Gomedia Satcom Communication Services has been the choice to be used in the most critical, delicate Emergency Situations.
As an example of a emergency situation for the Italian Fire Brigade was from the catastrophy area of the isle Ischia consisting of mountain located outside Neaples that collapsed with a high number of causalties and where all the communication was gone. During this event the Italian Fire Brigade started the search of people using the Gomedia Satcom Service as the only available mean of communication which enabled them to save lives. The same category of rescue operation for searching and try to save lives is now ongoing in February 2023 where the Italian Fire Brigade is using the Gomedia Satcom Service in Turkey when searching for people in the aftermath of the Earthquake.

When Gomedia customers like Italian Coast Guards uses The OTM terminals in their high speed boats, the terminals align and connect within seconds. The intuitive graphical interface gives the user complete control with a laptop. The all-in-one design, including a fully integrated modem, is compact without sacrificing performance.
